wo short intensive courses were carried out between 1-3/6/2013 and 30-03/4/2013 in the Old City of Nablus in partnership with Al-Najah University.
28 participants (including engineers and workers in the field of heritage conservation) attended the courses that was given by Jalal Dabbeek. The two courses explored the concept of (Rapid Assessment of Structural and Non Structural Damages of Old Masonry Building and Structural Consolidations) and focused on the following topics:
Ways of rapis assessment of structural and non structural damages.
The correct methods to consolidate old buildings.
Both courses also included practical training in the field on Arab Fund restoration projects.
These two courses are part of the efforts to establish an applied training institute for practitioners and professionals in the preservation of architectural heritage , and offer capacity building and applied training for engineers, architects, contractors and skilled labour involved in conservation.
